Seking a warm place

Life is a road that is twisted and turned,
Children of the sun grow up and get burned,
We should treasure our past but still travel light
And beware on who's doors we knock in the night.
I know I have friends, I am never alone
But I'm a wanderer, the road is my home....

I use that effect because image was a long exposure time, I can't use flash in that location!

Schäßburg

Schäßburg - Sighisoara

During the 12th century, German craftsmen and merchants known as the Transylvanian Saxons were invited to Transylvania by the King of Hungary to settle and defend the frontier of his realm. The chronicler Krauss lists a Saxon settlement in the actual Sighiṣoara by 1191. By 1280 it was known by the Latin name of Castrum Sex, and by 1298 by the Saxon name of Schespurch resp. Schaesbrich. By 1337 Sighişoara had become a royal center for the kings, who awarded the settlement urban status in 1367 as the Civitas de Segusvar.
The city played an important strategic and commercial role at the edges of Central Europe for several centuries. Sighişoara became one of the most important cities of Transylvania, with artisans from throughout the Holy Roman Empire visiting the settlement. The German artisans and craftsmen dominated the urban economy, as well as building the fortifications protecting it. It is estimated that during the 16th and the 17th centuries Sighişoara had as many as 15 guilds and 20 handicraft branches. The Baroque sculptor Elias Nicolai lived in the city. The Wallachian prince Vlad Dracul (father of Vlad the Impaler (Dracula), who lived in exile in the town, let minted coins in the city (otherwise coinage was the monopoly of the Hungarian kings in the Kingdom of Hungary) and issued the first document listing the city's Romanian name, Sighişoara.
Central Sighişoara has preserved in an exemplary way the features of a small medieval fortified city, it has been listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Each year, a Medieval Festival takes place in the old citadel in July.
Sighişoara is considered to be the most beautiful and well preserved inhabited citadel in Europe, with an authentic medieval architecture. In Eastern Europe, Sighişoara is one of the few fortified towns which are still inhabited. The town is made up of two parts. The medieval stronghold was built on top of a hill and is known as the "Citadel" (Cetate). The lower town lies in the valley of Târnava Mare river.
The houses inside Sighişoara Citadel show the main features of a craftsmen's town. However, there are some houses which belonged to the former patriciate, like the Venetian House and the House with Antlers.

If You visit Romania, you must see this city!

Little Paris

Dirty City

In image is street where is located "carul cu bere" wich have 128 years old. It's a true living legend and also one of the oldest beerhouse in Bucharest, was opened for the first time in 1879 in the old Zlatari inn and, after 20 years it moved to Stavropoleos Street, where it can be found even today. Nicolae Mircea along with his family, originary from Medias, had a major role in Caru' cu Bere history. He managed along the years to make of Caru' cu Bere one of the most appreciated divertisment places from Bucharest.
The beerhouse from Stavropoleos Street is a traditional place, where each object has its own story. It is one of the few places in Bucharest where it seems that nothing has changed, and the architecture reminds, to the ones who step into, why Bucharest was once considered to be the little Paris. The mural paintings, the stained glasses and the carved cross-beams are distinctive elements of the beerhouse. The old time party spirit is still present in these days, the atmosphere reminding of Bucharest's exuberance from the XXth century beginnings. The place's symbol is Old Ghita, whose silhouette guards even today the right cross-beam. Old Ghita, the cellar man, worked some dozens of years within Caru cu Bere, moving up and down the stairs to the cellar cram-full with wine and beer barrels together with its unseparable lantern.
Nowadays Caru cu Bere has the goal to revive a tradition. Moreover, what will happen in here it shall be a part of an ample activity of promoting a real beer culture. Upstairs, in the beerhouse, the unique recipe of the house' beer, along with a little diversified menu with specific food, shall remind of the old time taste. The old wine cellar shall be available for those ones who want to prepare more solid for a night at the Caru cu Bere. Also in here there can be seen objects from all over related to the beer spirit. And also in here the spirit of the beer itself shall be found.

This is another place that must see in Bucharest!

Grunge Background tutorial

It's ime to do another tutorial, this time we create a grunge background. Open a new document with transparent background. With Polygnal lasoo tool, and draw a selection like followselection
Now fill with any color you wish; fillCopy (CTRL+C) and deselect (CTRL+D) paste (CTRL+V) and press CTRL+T to transform selection, move rotation point in the thin top of layer:center
Set rotation angle at one of the follw value : 9,18,36,72...( if you don't use that values you will not have a simetric rays distribution) I use 18 degree; aply.

Now we duplicate the rotated layer (CTRL+J) and we press CTRL+SHIFT+T to transform again... we duplicate again layer and again we press CTRL+SHIFT+T, and we do that again, and again until we have something like that:rays
Good! Now, create a new layer( CTRL+SHIFT+N) and drag it under rays layer, fill with a color that contrast with rays:add background
We add a new layer again and with a brush we made some grunge effects:grunge brushes
Set this layer blending mode to Overlay and 20% Opacityoverlay and opacity Great, It look pretty nice but again, not enough. Add a new layer and with Eliptical marqee tool we draw a circle and we set tool to substract from selectioncircles
Draw a smaller circle inside the selection and fill with a color.circles Deselect and duplicate layer several times, now drag every layer to a desired position. well now again we add a new layer (CTRL+SHIFT+N) and with a ornamental brush we draw something to our circle.
ornamentsMmmm, looks good... I choose do delete the ornaments from inside circles. I select magic wand tool and select inside circle for every circle layer ( with add to selection).
select Well now I come back to ornament layer and with eraser tool I delete inside the selection.erase
Now our image will look something like that:erased ornaments We merge all circle and ornaments into a single layer.
Well again add a new layer and with a super sized ornamental brush we draw something:big ornament
Goto filter-blur-Gausian Blur and set 10Px radiusgaussian Blur
Drag layer under ornametal circle and set blending mode to overlay 45% opacityoverlay blend
Duplicate ornamental circles and set blending mode to hard mix. We have something like that:our result
I add a few steps and a text and my result is: My image
Keep an eye on my blog for more images and tutorials, and if you like it put a backlink on your site!

Explosion Tutorial

We create a background with stars as I show in previous tutorials. Now we add a new layer and with eliptical marquee tool we make a selection.selection
We set substract from selectionset substract from selectionand select a small portion as we create a ring. Fill the selection with one color ( I choose red) , deselect and go to filter-distort- ripple set follow value:
rippleNow go to filter-blur-radial blur and set value:
radial blur Well we have something interesting, but not enough!step 1 finished
We go to edit-transform-perspective
perspectiveNow rotate how you like it.
rotateOk, we have an explosion blast... we must add more and more.. it will be a long tutorial.
Let's add a planet, for that impact. Add a new layer, and with eliptical marquee tool we add a seletion and fill with a texture to be like a planet.planet
Ok, now, we add a new layer and a selection around the planet edge and fill with #eafa37 deselect and with filter-gausian blur set to 20Px we create atmosphere of the planet:atmosphere We have planet, we have atmosphere, we have explosion blast, but we must have an space object for colision...
You can skip next steps and don't leave our image, it's not really necesar!
STEP THAT CAN BE SKIPED :It's time to leave that image and create a new document with 200x200 px transparent background. With eliptical marquee tool we create a selection like in follow image:
asteroid selectionNow fill with a texture that imitate stone...stone texture
Duplicate layer and set gausian blur filter to 3 px.gausian blur
Select asteroid, add a new layer, transform selection, make it bigger and fill with #ff00f0:asteroid glow
Merge visible, select all, copy and paste in our image:asteroid paste
Good, we move and resize the rock to fit on the planet explosionasteroid fitted
Add a new layer and add a selection like in next image:selection
Fill the selection with a radial gradient wich have red and yellow in multiple strip:radial gradient
Deselect and add gausian blur with 15 px radius:gausian blur
Move that layer behind the asteroid, aply ripple filter to asteroidasteroid ripple
and set asteroid blending for lighten.asteroid blending
Now you ask me why we create asteroid with texture.... Because we add more asteroids, and I want to show you how you can make one.
I add same rock, rotated, scaled to become pices that run away from explosion:explosion rocks
For every rock filter it with motion blur, but for each rock set other distance.motion blur
Now we go back to background and add a lens flare from filter- render:
lens flareLet's add a cosmic clouds like I shou you on older tutorials. Play with colors and opacity and you will have something like that:final image
Hope you like it, and learn something!Fell Free to backlink if yo like it or promote it!
